We have recently started to read the play version of the Phantom of the Opera.

In Act 1: There is a girl named Christine who is taught how to sing by her “angel of music.” Her tutor is actually the Phantom who hides his “ugliness” behind a mask. He stays under the opera house in the dark.

When Raoul sees Christine sing, he immediately falls in love with her. This makes the Phantom jealous. He kills the stagehand because what he wanted wasn’t getting carried out. At the end of act 1, the chandelier falls at Christine’s feet, and the Phantom vanishes.

I like to listen to the songs, one of my favorites is the Masquerade one. This story has a lot of depth to it and I can’t wait until we watch the movie after STAAR testing.
